The benefits of agencies versus independent contractors:
With an agency, you get consistent training and consistent shift coverage. If a caregiver is sick there is another one who is trained and ready to cover their shifts so that your loved one does not have to do without.
When working with an independent contractor you may pay a little bit less, however, if you are covering their appropriate taxes it won't be a whole lot less, however, when they're sick, there's no one to step up and help you that day
With an independent contractor, you get a little bit more say as to what goes on, with an agency, there are liability concerns that we must factor into our care.
An agency, like ours, does a background check on every person that they hire and will not send a caregiver to work with your loved one that they would not trust with their own grandma.
